_________________________________________

Laura hand painted the design for our new tapestry, taking inspiration from the incredible medicine of the plants we share this earth with. This tapestry is for the forest faeries and celestial souls, the nature loving rebels who believe in magick and forage for goodies. It’s for those who need healing and those who are healers, seeking wellness in the power of ancestral botanical wisdom.

The design will transport you to an enchanted garden under the glow of the evening sun, long forgotten by the modern world but holding cures to all our problems. There are 22 plants featured which have been used for centuries to treat physical and mental illnesses, and we have included a little leaflet showing their names and uses too! This tapestry would be perfect in the home as a symbol of health and protection, used in gatherings like women’s circles, or simply bring it along to your safe space in nature, wrap it around yourself to be held and healed by these sacred medicinal species.

Below are the many ways the tapestry can be used and remember you can reverse it too if you want some pinky lilac hues!

USES:

-Throw: You can drape your tapestry over your bed or sofa. It is thick enough to offer heat on cold days but cool enough to use in summer too! It is 72” X 54” so perfect for double beds.

-Wall Hanging: This tapestry looks super enchanting hung up on a wall; simply use push pins or nails. It will not damage the tapestry at all, just poke the pin through the gaps IN BETWEEN the woven threads. You will need around 4 pins to hold your tapestry up in portrait, or 6 to hold it up landscape.

-Rug: The tapestry looks amazing when used as a rug, washing instructions are detailed below. Just be sure to keep sharp objects away from the tapestry as it is intricately woven so they could snag the threads.

-Blanket: The tapestry is so soft and feels wonderful to wrap around yourself! It is woven tightly so will keep the breeze off of your skin, making you feel nice and cosy.

-Table Cover: This tapestry looks amazing draped over a table for a secret garden themed feast! You can wash the tapestry after, see the washing instructions below! If using candles, put little plates below to catch the dripping wax as removing melted wax from the tapestries can be tedious.

-Picnic Rug: It is the perfect size to use as a picnic mat, with a thick, tight weave that cushions you from the earth or sand below. Afterwards the blanket can be shaken off or washed, see below for washing instructions.

Pick one or use it in all these different ways, in any case we hope your tapestry transports you to the Wildside!

Please note these tapestries are incredibly intricately woven so should be used gently to avoid snagging the threads. Be careful not to let cats and dogs scratch it or to catch the threads on clothing or furniture etc.

THE DESIGN:

The design includes 22 of our favourite herbal medicine species including some which you might recognise such as:

Echinacea, Lavender, Calendula, St, Johns Wort, Rosehip, Elderberry, Dandelion, Shitake, Hemp, Nettle, and Chamomile.

There's also a Spanish Moon Moth spreading its wings beneath three crescent moons and some teensy little bees pollinating away.

The front of the blanket has a dark muted green background with multicoloured flowers intertwining around a pale green moth in the centre and mocha toned mushrooms.

The reverse side of the blanket has a pinkish lilac background with maroon stems, green flowers and blue mushrooms.

Please note that colours may appear slightly different from the images.

WHERE ITS MADE:

We want to be totally transparent with this as there is far too much exploitation of people, animals and the earth in the textile industry. The tapestries were woven in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, USA, by a small independent textile mill called FiberArt. FiberArt are a family operation who specialise in high quality, long lasting, ethically and environmentally woven tapestries. They use recycled cotton threads in their weaving looms and any fabric waste produced on their site is recycled back into more threads for weaving!

FIBRE CONTENT:

The tapestries are woven with 95% recycled cotton threads, the threads contain trace amounts of polyester fibre for strength. 100% Vegan. The tapestries are super soft and not itchy in any way. They come prewashed and only get even softer with age! They are of very high quality and are intricately woven by experienced weavers.
