Laura hand painted the design for this tapestry in our little cabin on wheels whilst we were wild camping in the Lake District. The inspiration came from the wild plants and creatures around us, with a good dose of magick and imagination too of course!

It is a timeless piece perfect for bringing a little woodland serenity to your home. It would also be amazing for camping trips in the wild, picnics in the forest, gatherings and events like lunar ceremonies, weddings and women’s circles. Below are the many ways the tapestry can be used and remember you can reverse it too for a lighter colour palette!

THE DESIGN:

The design includes some of our favourite species which you might recognise such as:

Thistles, Foxgloves, Chamomile, Dandelion, Daffodils, Bluebells, Snow Drops, Amanita Muscaria toadstools, Heather, Oak, Ribwort, Pine, Ivy, Rosehip, Durum and Hyacinths, as well as Robins and Red Squirrels.

The front of the blanket has a very dark brown background with a symmetrical design featuring foliage and floral details in muted earthy greens, natural pinkish purple hues, shades of chestnut, cream and also occasional small details in mustard and teal.

The reverse side of the blanket has a blueish cream background with the symmetrical design featuring foliage and floral details in pinkish purple tones, greens, teal, blue and occasional details in brown.

Please note that colours may appear slightly different from the images.

USES:

- Throw: You can drape your tapestry over your bed or sofa. It is thick enough to offer heat on cold days but cool enough to use in summer too! It is 72” X 54” so perfect for double beds.

- Wall Hanging: This tapestry looks super enchanting hung up on a wall; simply use push pins or nails. It will not damage the tapestry at all, just poke the pin through the gaps IN BETWEEN the woven threads. You will need around 4 pins to hold your tapestry up in portrait, or 6 to hold it up landscape.

- Rug: The tapestry looks amazing when used as a rug, washing instructions are detailed below. Just be sure to keep sharp objects away from the tapestry as it is intricately woven so they could snag the threads.

- Blanket: The tapestry is so soft and feels wonderful to wrap around yourself! It is woven tightly so will keep the breeze off of your skin, making you feel nice and cosy.

- Table Cover: This tapestry makes for such a magical woodland table display, decorate with plants and flowers. You can wash the tapestry after, see the washing instructions below! If using candles, put little plates below to catch the dripping wax as removing melted wax from the tapestries can be tedious.

- Picnic Rug: It is the perfect size to use as a picnic mat, with a thick, tight weave that cushions you from the earth or sand below. Afterwards the blanket can be shaken off or washed, see below for washing instructions.

Pick one or use it in all these different ways, in any case we hope your tapestry transports you to the Wildside!

WHERE ITS MADE:

We want to be totally transparent with this as there is far too much exploitation of people, animals and the earth in the textile industry. The tapestries were woven in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina USA, by a small independent textile mill called Fiber Art. Fiber Art are a family operation and who specialise in high quality, long lasting, ethically and environmentally woven tapestries. They use recycled cotton threads in their weaving looms and any fabric waste produced on their site is recycled back into more threads for weaving!

FIBRE CONTENT:

The tapestries are woven with 95% recycled cotton threads, the threads contain trace amounts of polyester fibre for strength. 100% Vegan.

The tapestries are super soft and not itchy in any way. They come prewashed and only get even softer with age! They are of very high quality and are intricately woven by artisan weavers.

POSTAGE & PACKAGING:

We’ll be posting these out to the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and The European Union and Switzerland. VAT will be charged on all EU orders in line with European Union trade rules (excluding Switzerland).

If you are desperate for a tapestry but are outside of these postage zones, drop us an email and we can try to post you one from the UK but please know that there will likely be import tax to pay when you receive your tapestry.

SIZE & WEIGHT:

The tapestry weighs around 1.2 Kilos and is 72” X 54” in size (double bed size).

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

Cold machine wash separately on a gentle cycle using mild detergent or wash by hand.

Machine dry on a cool cycle or line dry.

The tapestry naturally resists creasing.
